Copyright is a form of property subsisting in literary, musical, dramatic and artistic works, as well as sound recordings, films, broadcasts, cable programmes and published editions. The owner of a copyright is given exclusivity in respect of reproduction, performance, transmission and adaption of the work, and similar commercial dealings.
